Audhathe Memorie
Audhathe Memorie (Smart Medicine Box)
Project Overview
Our EN1070 – Electronics Product Design and Manufacture Module group project focused on addressing a prevalent issue in society: the inconsistent use of oral medication, particularly among the elderly population. This often leads to missed doses and potentially severe consequences. To tackle this challenge, we embarked on a project to develop a device that effectively reminds users to take their medication at the prescribed times.
Survey Findings
To gather insights into the problem, we conducted a survey, which revealed that:
- 63% of family members take medication.
- 76% of respondents are above the age of 50.
- 88% of respondents use pill-type medication.
- 72% of respondents have experienced forgetting to take their medication and require a reminder system.
Project Scope
Based on the survey findings, we determined that our project should focus on developing a device that:
- Reminds users to take their medication at the correct time.
- Stores oral medication in the form of pills.
- Allows users to input medical data through a terminal.
- Stores medical data and uses it to remind users of medication times.
- Alerts the user or caretaker if medication is not taken at the correct time.
Product Goal
The goal of our device is to provide a convenient and reliable solution for medication adherence, ensuring that users take their medication at the right times and avoid any potential health risks associated with missed doses.

My Contribution To This Project
I wanted to share details about my contributions to the initial physical implementation work. My primary focus was on designing the PCB using Altium and EasyEDA. Additionally, I actively participated in the soldering process for the components on the printed PCB.
